The third quarter of 2022 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United Arab Emirates. Here’s a detailed look at how the top 5 apps fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced a mixed trend in weekly downloads. Starting at 15.7K downloads in late June, the numbers dipped to around 10K in mid-August, before surging to 22.2K by the end of September. Weekly active users for the app remained relatively stable, hovering around 100K to 116K throughout the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a steady performance in terms of weekly active users, staying in the range of 240K to 257K. Download numbers saw a slight decline, starting from 7.6K in late June and ending at 7.2K in late September.

Bolt: Request a Ride showed a consistent pattern in weekly active users, with figures around 8K to 10K. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at 4.4K in mid-July and dropping to around 3K by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides saw a steady increase in weekly active users, growing from 23.7K in late June to over 30K by the end of September. The app's weekly downloads fluctuated between 2.6K and 4K throughout the quarter.

Ola: Book Cab, Auto, Bike Taxi also had varied download numbers, peaking at 14.1K in early July and then stabilizing around 1.5K towards the end of the quarter. Active users saw a peak of 32K in early July, before settling around 24K by late September.
